The bills are controversial because if passed and enacted they would make residents in the state face higher monthly car insurance premiums.

Are you up to date with tourer caravan Insurance

April 15th, 2011 by Allison Smith

Keeping up to date on tourer caravan insurance may be high up on any committed caravanners list of priorities.

This may not be quite so difficult as it may have been in the past because you can now compare tourer caravan Insurance policies from a number of different providers on the internet.

This may make matching whats on offer, against your own list of priorities for your touring caravan, a fairly painless experience and one that you should carry out regularly.

Things that you may feel are important for your touring caravan insurance could include features like:

  • new for old replacement for your contents – some policies may only offer market value replacement, which may leave you footing a substantial bill if you have to buy replacements;
  • getting discounts for steps that you take for improving the security of your caravan for example, by fitting a tracking device or installing alarms;
  • cover for unlimited continental travel included as standard – some policies may only offer cover for a specific number of days or miles travelled, others may impose a UK only limit;
  • discounts available for membership of recognised caravan clubs, where experiences and knowledge can be shared.

Your tourer may also be a target for thieves, so using a provider who insists on precautions like hitchlocks and wheel clamps may mean that overall caravans are safer, possibly resulting in fewer claims and lower premiums.

Making sure that your caravan insurance meets your requirements is your responsibility.

Simply renewing your policy year after year may mean that you are missing out on some improvements in the cover available in the marketplace. Get
